VA-Multi-Faith Mantra is a release made for the ones who move, groove and never get tired, a primordial vibe like a Rudraksh bead. A multi faced tool with mutual outcomes – uniting head feeders known to public dance floors – sneaking into your mind and molesting your chakras. October 2011 will be the third edition at a beautiful spot in Nepal combining Psytrance with local culture in form of Shaman and Healers of the Himalaya. This is also the theme of this compilation by DJ Daksinamurti.

The shamanic journey begins in the here and now with an „Internal Dialogue“ and continues to travel through different realms of „Time“ and space. From the upper to the underworld combining the forces of the spirit guides such as the „Ban Jhankri“ and ancestors, battling with witches, negative spirits and „Unhuman Creatures“ in the underworld, a crystal landscape inhibited by primordial serpent creatures (Nagas). Walking from the wild ancient „Midnight Forest“ back to the „Light“ after the successful recovery of the lost soul and guiding it to the here and now again. Floating like „purple Juice“ on a „Pleasure Island“.

This compilation is like a dip of „Adrenochrome“ something to feed your head. It contains 10 previously unreleased tunes by some of the artists which will participate at the festival and combines different musical styles to one journey. Enjoy the trip to Nepal, home of Shiva on the high peaks of the Himalaya and beyond with this piece of organic medicine for the ears.

Continue reading »]]> Sangoma records are well pleased to release the 2nd album from the German duo -Z- (Alpha & Antagon), who have a rich musical background & have been in the scene for decades now. They have played at some of the biggest festivals and underground events around the planet like Ozora, Boom ,Vuuv, Universo Paralello & Psycrowdelica among many others.

Modern and well produced night time music with a musical and experimental touch, the sound is definitely cutting edge and is loaded with new influences, visuals for the mind and surprises in every corner fitting like a perfect soundtrack to the actual Zeitgeist of resistance and protest.

This concept album contains 12 tracks which build a story in the shape of a diamond- starting small on the top with the -Intro-, getting high in the middle with Cosmo -Piss Off- and going back to the ground with -Reprise- adding new influences like EBM & Industrial along the way and resulting in modern night time psytrance.

The intro is the start of the musical journey with extraordinary atmospheres. Containing the lyrics by Bertolt Brecht from his dadaistic phase,it could not be vocalized better than by Klaus Kinski.
The track “Che” pays homage to the great revolutionary from Argentina. His words from 1962 and the traditional song’s chords are fused to a modern hymn to dance to.
Collaborations with unique underground artists like Kindzadza (“Gospodin”), Paratox (“Traumtrottel”) and Cosmo (“Piss Off”) add extra spice to the -Z- Formula.

The remix of Bauhaus´”Bela Lugosi´s Dead” from the 80s shows another musical side of -Z- (alpha & antagon).
The album “Gospodin” gives the listener a lot of space to rock, dance or simply listen to which is a big step forward in the project´s development.
Their live presentations will continue as well, with extra versions of the tracks & instrumental additions sometimes involving guest-musicians such as Johann Bley (drums) and Tim Schuldt (guitar), who also mastered this release.

The only good system is a sound system !

Continue reading »]]> Gata Freak is Emiel Josef from India, but residing in Qatar. A complete sound junkie from as far back as he can recall, he first caught the wild trance fever in 1999 at the notorious discovalley party experiences in Goa, India and later at one of the first lunar rave in Bangalore / India. Since then, all he has wanted, is to share the dance floor energy through the perfection of his dj sets and track selection and his weakness for exploring fresh and top notch sound, has seen him decimate some dance floors in & around India Middle East and in South Africa.

The Gata Freak DJ project was born in 2002 after emiel completely immersed himself in collecting and experimenting with both psy trance music and psychedelics. By then, he was floored by the south african night time/ twilight sound from artists like Xatrik, Artifakt, Rinkadink, Broken toy, Damage, Phyx, Shift etc. He has dedicated his spare time to sharing his uplifting journey with this culture, its people and the music.

Since 2011 he is running the South Africa based label Timecode and its sublabel Sangoma with Daksinamurti and a team of friends. Gata Freak released his first compilation “Tokoloshe Tales” last year together with Dj Daksinamurti (Nexus/ Peak) on the legendary TIMECODE Records and received rave reviews. And in May 2011, released his 2nd massive compilation “Arecibo Chronicles Vol.1″ on the swiss power house label FRACTAL Records. His 3rd compilation VA – Spirit Voices was released in March 2013 and you can expect many more releases soon. So stay tuned for more compilations by this spawn.

Continue reading »]]> (Sanskrit: दक्षिणामूर्ति ) is Till Kuhn, a time and space traveling earthling from Marburg, Germany where he studies cultural anthropology and ethnology. His story began when he started getting uninspired with the musical situation and decided to share his passion for the music which he first listened to in India in the 90s.

So far Till has represented labels like the legendary Shiva Space Technology in 2005, Nexus Media 2007 and he is a DJ for Peak records.Since 2011 he is running the South Africa based label Timecode and its sublabel Sangoma with Gata Freak and a team of friends.

Daksinamurti is an independent DJ who likes to play longer sets and create a shamanic story which leads you through the worlds and gives you a colorful taste of variety. Daksi’s recipe for the dance floor is a journey through powerful night / twilight psychedelic trance with strong groove, powerful melodies, psychedelic sometimes organic- tribal atmospheric soundscapes, and full of surprises which lead from night to light. Continue reading »]]> DJ Jafar is from the Middle East and was born in the early 80′s. His induction to DJing came through Hardcore and Hip Hop at the age of just 20. Playing for almost 2 years at some of the biggest clubs in Bangalore. 2003 was the year when Jafar transformed into the force field of electronic music and from then on the focus has been to create a sonic journey with sets at various venues in Goa, Bangalore, Delhi (India), Cape Town (South Africa) and Nepal. Jafar’s style varies from Psychedelic Twilight packed with rolling, powerful bass lines and sounds.

His compilation VA – Turn On, Tune In, Burn Out (Beyond Logic/ 2011) released is an excess of hard hitting and mind numbing sounds and vibrations. Since then he has been managing Sangoma recs with Gata Freak and Daksinamurti.

Continue reading »]]> Etnica are Ibiza-based Italian duo Max Lanfranconi and Maurizio Begotti. (The original quartet was comprised of Max Lanfranconi, Maurizio Begotti, Carlo Paterno, and Andrea Rizzo). Electronic music producers extraordinaire, ETNICA have pioneered the global phenomenon that is psychedelic trance since the late 80′s as doyens and undisputed innovators, trail-blazing the planet with their charismatic live performances as  constant favorites on international line-ups at all of the world’s top events.  Simply put, they are among the most acclaimed artists of their kind, with a growing legion of fans that span the entire planet, devotedly following them since the glorious Acid House days.

Quintessentially Mediterranean yet utterly universal, the romantic and evocative allure of their sci-fi imbued compositions have rippled out through the years, inspiring many an artist and forging, during the ‘golden era’ of Goa Trance, what would become the  blueprint for this legendary musical genre. ETNICA have given us an imposing array of classics starting from their debut album ‘The Juggeling Alchemist Under the Blacklight’ and their  sophomore album ‘Alien Protein’, which set the tone for the illustrious sequence of 8 artist albums up until present day.

Attention has inevitably been garnered outside of the international electronic music circuit, with memorable collaborations including  licensing their musical pieces to Sony Playstation for the acclaimed Gran Turismo game, as well as soundtrack and sound designing for Italian  titans Ferrari and Ducati. Back home at their headquarters in the world’s clubbing capital, Max Lanfranconi was awarded ‘Best DJ’ during 2005′s edition of Ibiza DJ Awards.

With their record label ETNICANET they are responsible for igniting new scenes in many of today’s festival and clubbing hot spots such as  South Africa (Southafrica 2000 Millennium Festival in collaboration with Vortex and Alien Safari, and the Southafrica 2002 Total Solar Eclipse Festival), Venezuela (1998 Eclipse Festival), Brazil (Celebra Brasil 2001, 2002, and 2003 editions, the first of which was the first ever festival of its kind in the continent), and much more.

In 2010 Etnica inaugurated their new state-of-the-art recording facilities: SOUNDFARM Studios in Ibiza.

Digital Talk is Julien Fougea and Luc Achintre, french answer to psytrance.

After experimenting with different aspects of acoustic music, these two childhood friends were hooked by the 90′s techno scene. Few years later, they created the visionary band named “Droidsect”, with two other friends. In 2001, they unleashed a huge amount of unreleased tunes mostly played at underground parties in Goa, India. Later, they signed their first release with 3D Vision Records next to Skazi, Talamasca, and Total Eclipse. The project ended fast but a new kind of trance music was born….

Continuing from the previous work while adding more musical directions, Julien and Luc joined forces to create “Digital Talk” in 2002. The French duo started to play for electronic music events at every corner of the globe: from Japan to Brazil, Mexico to India, Russia to USA, and almost every country all over Europe.

Their debut album “New Age Surf” released in 2004 then shaped the darker side of the psytrance genre. The album was signed on Acidance records, a Greek label well known for its furious and eclectic psychedelic sounds.

In 2005, after a successful album release, Digital Talk joined Timecode Records compiling ‘Sonic Solutions’ featuring Shift, Azax Syndrom, Phatmatix, and others. One year later they signed on with the growing Japanese label Yabaï Records where, with an abundance of energy, they delivered a constant stream of powerful tunes.

After touring the world and relaxing from music, the French masters of alien frequencies are now preparing their second album. The release is expected in 2010 on Hadra Records and will cause some serious dance floor damage. Stay Close!..
